The editorial team are dedicated students who work to keep The Witness running throughout the academic year, and provide support to our writers. Our committee team/senior editors are elected, while Junior Editors are recruited each year, alongside of our journalists.

President and Editor-in-Chief – Eloise Norris
After three years with The Witness, I am delighted to have been elected President this year. I am excited to continue the legacy of the journal, while also introducing new students to political journalism. I have a particular interest in international human rights and women’s rights. After I finish my degree in BA Politics, I hope to work within the Civil Service or Political Research.

Treasurer and Senior Editor – Will Howe
As a third year Politics and Sociology student, I am interested in party politics and electoral systems in the UK, as well as LGBTQ rights. I hope to work in social research after university.

Welfare Secretary and Senior Editor – Amy Powell
Hello! I’m Amy, your Welfare Sec and a final year BSc Politics & IR student who talks too much and needed a hobby to provide relief for friends and family. Sometimes I want to be an investigative journalist and other times a fashion magazine editor (who knows nothing about fashion and wears one pair of kids shoes with everything). Either way, I love people and words. I tend to write about social injustice, fostering social cohesion, or encouraging self-love. Please reach out to me about anything that’s playing on your mind or even just for a coffee, cake and a chat – I’m here to be your friend and make sure you’re happy and thriving in our Witness family, as well as at uni in general!

Publicity Secretary – Alisha Haley
My name is Alisha, I am in my final year studying International Relations, and I am Publicity Secretary for this year’s Witness Committee. Last year I was a regular contributor which provided a fantastic opportunity to discuss and critique topics that are of great importance to me. One of my main interests as going into my third year is policy and how they work. In the following academic year, I will write further articles on social mobility which matters to me as well as providing a critical eye on government policies particularly in healthcare and education. I remain equally interested in international affairs, paying close attention to Putin’s war in Ukraine as well as the long-term impacts of Brexit.
